Energy Alliance of Kazakhstan and China

On July 2, 2024, during the Kazakhstan-China Business Council, two pivotal agreements were signed to advance renewable energy projects in Kazakhstan. TechnoGroupService LLP and POWER CHINA INTERNATIONAL GROUP LIMITED have entered into a contract to construct a 20 MW solar power plant in the Almaty region. Simultaneously, an agreement was finalized with LONGi Green Energy Technology to establish a 150 MW annual capacity photovoltaic module production facility in Almaty, situated within the Alatau IT Special Economic Zone. Zhomart Mominbayev highlighted that these collaborations will strengthen partnerships with industry leaders and mark Kazakhstan's first large-scale ventures into domestic manufacturing for renewable energy equipment, with plans to launch operations by the end of this year.
